Top Funds in the New Energy Category (from 07/09/2021 to 07/03/2022)

For several months, energy prices have been rising sharply following the post-COVID economic recovery. The current geopolitical situation is increasing tensions in this sector, as Russia is a world leader in gas and oil exports.

In these macroeconomic and geopolitical circumstances, what are the consequences for funds invested in the energy sector (including fossil fuels) and funds invested in renewable energy?

We observe that funds invested in all types of energy have outperformed those investing in renewable energy over the last 6 months. However, following Europe’s decision to reduce its energy dependence on Russia and the latest IPCC report announcing that climate change is underway, it would be interesting to monitor the evolution of these two fund categories in the short/medium term.
